Another Angel Girl

She is here!!! We are so happy to have four kids. Alana Ruth was born Saturday morning July 31st. (my grandma Beth's birthday)
Labor was intense and fast. Only 4 hours this time and I felt focused and strong the whole time. It is certainly painful but once it is over I think to myself I would go through labor again and again for this perfect little person in my arms.
We had a hard time picking a name for her. She was going to be "Kate" for the majority of my pregnancy, but I was always so unsure. Then a couple days before she was born Scott and I were out at the Macaroni Grill writing names down on the paper table cloth and Scott wrote down Alana Ruth (after his Hansen grandparents). We both loved it, and really felt something special about it's meaning to our family. So even though we didn't have a final name until she was born it was clear that she was Alana when we met her. It was fun to call grandma Ruth and let her know her name. She said Alan was a great man and she misses him. We do too. Alana will be a "straight arrow-true heart" in honor of her great grandfather.
I love that we have four kids. I look forward to holidays and family traditions. I love right now!

I am so excited! She is beautiful and I love the name! I have been wanting to call you all week, but don't want to wake anyone who may be trying to sleep. Please let me know if you need anything. Love you and your family.

Congrats to both of you! I agree that 4 kids is awesome, sometime a lot of work, but totally worth it! Love the name too. It's always fun to use family names, or a variation on them. We named Garrett after my Dad and he was very proud.

Bev-I am so happy for you. Congrats. It has been way too long since we talked. I am glad you are doing so well and that your family is happy and healthy. I think about you alot. Give me a call when you have a second (you probably won't have a second for another 6-9 months.

Congrats Bev! I really can't imagine having four kids but then again I can't imagine having one. :) When I see you with your kids I can tell how much you love them and know you are a awesome Mom. Suzie and I were just talking about that the other day because she said she saw you and thought you were so cute with your kids. Love ya, talk to you in a couple months! :)

So happy for you and your family.
I hope you're recovering well and had a lovely birth experience--four hours is pretty intense! And you've chosen a beautiful name!

Wow, she has more hair than Kirsty. :) I felt a pang of sadness when you guys called with your great news and I couldn't rush over to the hospital. I know you'll be glad to hear that-- that I am feeling guilty for leaving you. We miss you guys so much but are so thrilled for you-- what a cutie. Love you!
